Why We Do What We Do

For the last five months, a local church body in Tennessee has missed seeing the Kevin Pine family each Lord’s Day.  But they’ve been encouraged and ministered to during that time, knowing that the Pines have taken up temporary residence in Los Angeles at the home of Kevin’s mother for the purpose of caring for her as her health declined.

Mrs. Pine went to be with the Lord last week.  But for the last months of her life, her needs were attended to by the Pines and their four children. We rejoiced that Mrs. Pine was enjoying the earthly blessing of seeing her children’s children (Psalm 128) on a daily basis.

Kevin sent a few pictures today, and we asked his permission to share one with you.

The picture below of 5 year old Lauren with her 86 year old grandmother says more than we’ll ever be able to communicate in one of our Franklin Springs films.  It captures beautifully the vision of family life that we can only hope to further with our projects.

Please pray for the Pine family this week.  While we mourn their loss, we are so grateful for the portrayal they’ve provided of a well functioning family during life’s most difficult times.
